Lou Ann Tucker
The Tuckers began their music ministry in 1980 originating as “The Gospel Melody Singers” until their recent name change. Starting out young and eager to learn everything they could in the gospel music industry. The Lord has blessed them and brought them a long way in this ministry. They have covered around seventeen states, with more being added in the future. The Tuckers have been honored to receive several awards through the years winning first place at the Eastern North Carolina Talent Search in Fayetteville, NC, first place at the Virginia Gospel Singing Convention, and several first place awards at the talent search in Benson, NC. The Tuckers were also able to place 2nd in the Giant Talent Search in Waycross, GA and follow that up with very high marks in the National Quartet Convention Talent Search. Through the years, they have recorded for several record companies, releasing a single “The Crowning Day” written by their former pianist, which charted in the Gospel Voice. Their most recent project was recorded at “The Farm” studio in Madison, NC. They are very proud of this new project appropriately titled “Renewed and Refreshed” as they feel this is where they are today as a group. As much as they are devoted to this calling, their first priority has always been their families. “Without the support of our family back home and our home church we would not be able to do this”. As their father began to battle with a series of mini-strokes, they took time off the road to be with their dad and be a support to their mom who was his caregiver. He passed away and is now rejoicing with the angels! Working in their home church, they felt the Lord calling them to go back out on the road and minister again in song. So they have stepped out again and have seen the Lord bless each time they sing. Southern Gospel is their style and most importantly are the words they sing.
The group is comprised of Ricky Tucker, whose deep rich bass voice people enjoy. Ricky also takes care of booking most of the dates. Ricky's wife Leah Tucker sings the alto part. Leah's beautiful alto voice touches and moves audiences everywhere. Randy Tucker sings the baritone part and manages the group. Randy also takes care of most of the MC work from the stage. Randy has a servants heart and blesses audiences with his humble spirit. Randy's wife Lou Ann Tucker sings the soprano part. LouAnn's high range and sincerity excite the crowds as we travel from place to place. Jonathan Steele takes care of the sound and sound equipment. Jonathan also takes care of the web page as well as social media. Jonathan also joins the group on stage from time to time. Landon Tucker helps out with the groups computer work and also assists with the sound. Landon also takes care of a lot of the equipment along with the product table. Each one is a member of “Ellisboro Baptist Church” in Madison, NC and is faithful to be there when they are at home.
The mission of The Tuckers is to lift up Jesus Christ through their music, see souls come to know the Lord as Savior and be an encouragement to Believers across the country. Glorifying our Lord Jesus Christ is the reason we travel.
